The Royal Berkshire Hotel, Ascot
As local wedding videographers, the Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot is one of our favourite wedding venues in Berkshire and we are proud to be recommended by the hotel. We are located in Surrey and very close to the venue, so we regulary get the chance to travel into Berkshire and other local counties in the South East such as Buckinghamshire.
Set within 15 acres of stunning gardens, the main house was built in 1705 for Charles Churchill, who was son to the Duke of Marlborough. The house can be booked in its entirety which is fantastic for couples looking for an exclusive use wedding venue.
The hotel has 63 bedrooms and suites, so you don’t have to worry about your guests leaving the site for their accommodation. Couples can choose to say their vows in a variety of rooms, with flexibility being the key. The main Berkshire Suite can hold up to 150 guests and has a private bar too.
The gardens are incredibly spectacular, with lawns and fountains, they are a fantastic backdrop for the all important photos and of course wedding video!

Filming Your Wedding at The Royal Berkshire Hotel
One of the things we particularly enjoy about filming weddings at The Royal Berkshire is the choice of spaces available throughout the day. The Secret Walled Garden can provide a completely different atmosphere for an outdoor ceremony, while rooms such as the Library offer a much more intimate setting for smaller celebrations. The Wentworth and Marlborough Rooms give couples further options, with large windows, garden access and views across the grounds.
For us, this variety makes a real difference when creating a wedding film. Rather than every part of the day taking place in the same surroundings, there can be a natural change of atmosphere as the celebrations progress. Guests can move from the ceremony into the gardens and terraces before returning inside for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations, giving us plenty of opportunities to capture the changing mood of the day.
The Library is particularly interesting for smaller weddings. As the original mansion house drawing room, it has wooden detailing, panelled windows, an original fireplace and direct access outside. These sorts of spaces can be wonderful for capturing the quieter moments between the bigger events, particularly conversations and interactions between close family and friends.
The hotel also currently offers the option of having the whole house exclusively for your wedding, with just one wedding hosted each day. That gives the celebrations a more personal feel and means the different spaces and grounds can become part of the story of the day rather than simply providing a backdrop.
