We are award-winning wedding videographers who regularly film at Notley Abbey in Buckinghamshire. This beautiful country house venue near Thame sits on the border of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and offers a stunning backdrop for wedding films.

The venue is a listed building and registered national monument and was in recent years returned to its former glory through painstaking refurbishment. It has a long sweeping tree-lined driveway so you can arrive in style to this spectacular house, which is exclusive-use for you and your guests only on your wedding day.
It has several options for civil ceremonies, including the Abbot's Hall, the Monks' refectory and the Walled Garden Nook. The Refectory is a stone barn, where Augustine monks dined in the 13th Century. It seats up to 190 guests so you can feel as though you are hosting your own medieval banquet for your wedding breakfast. The Abbot's Hall offers a more intimate setting, but still has the medieval feel with its huge fireplace.

Filming a Wedding at Notley Abbey
One of the things that makes Notley Abbey particularly enjoyable to film is the way the wedding can move between very different settings throughout the day. From the quieter moments of the morning through to the ceremony, drinks reception and evening celebrations, there are plenty of opportunities to capture the changing atmosphere without everything feeling as though it takes place in the same room.
The Abbot's Hall has a very different character from the Monks' Refectory, with its ancient oak beams, high ceiling and historic fireplace creating a more intimate setting for a ceremony. The Refectory opens everything up again, with its huge stone walls, tall windows and chandeliers providing a dramatic backdrop as the day moves into the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.
Outside, the Cloister Gardens provide a natural setting for guests to mingle after the ceremony, while the Walled Garden offers another completely different atmosphere for an outdoor ceremony in the warmer months. These changes of setting give us lots of opportunities to capture the smaller interactions between you and your guests as well as the main events of the day.
With exclusive use of the Abbey, the day can also feel very personal and self contained. There is accommodation on site, including the Notley Suite and bedrooms for family and friends, which can allow the celebrations to continue beyond the main wedding itself.
