Bury Court Barn
We love being wedding videographers at Bury Court Barn, so we would like to take a moment to tell you all about this great place. This beautiful and secluded wedding venue is located in the countryside on the Surrey and Hampshire border, just a short distance from Farnham.
Having worked as a wedding videographer across Hampshire and Surrey for many years, we have had the pleasure of filming at Bury Court Barn and always enjoy returning to this incredible venue.
Oast Cottage is a lovely apartment, perfect for the bridal preparations in the morning. It’s a light, spacious and airy location that maintains its original authenticity whilst offering all the modern conveniences necessary. A great touch is the mezzanine level which is perfect for drinks or as a chill out seating area.
The main barn is perfect for a variety of weddings, both the grand and the intimate. Up to 150 friends and family can be seated for Civil Ceremonies and then later in the day 180 guests can enjoy a magnificent wedding breakfast.
Jacaranda Catering Company organise and serve the food throughout the day and they have a wide range of menus to choose from. There is no corkage at Bury Court Barn and couples are welcome to provide their own drinks.
Of course one area that helps set Bury Court Barn apart from many other barn venues in the area is the stunning gardens and landscaped areas. It’s a fantastic area for a drinks reception and the setting really does add to those all important photos and of course the wedding video!

Filming Your Wedding at Bury Court Barn
Bury Court works particularly well for a wedding film because the different parts of the venue create a natural progression through the day. The accommodation is right next to the barn, making it possible to capture the preparations before following the story through to the ceremony and celebrations without losing that sense of continuity. The venue currently offers 14 double rooms and a bridal suite for couples and their guests staying on site.
The barn itself has plenty of visual character, with its open interior, exposed structure and large windows giving us lots of different ways to capture the atmosphere. It can also be arranged for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, giving each wedding its own feel and creating opportunities for different types of shots as the day develops.
Another feature we particularly enjoy is the way Bury Court lends itself to capturing the smaller moments between the main parts of the day. From preparations and conversations with friends and family to the reactions during the ceremony, speeches and evening celebrations, there are plenty of opportunities to build a film around the people rather than simply recording the events.
With venue hire running through to midnight, the story does not have to finish after the wedding breakfast. There is plenty of time to capture the change in atmosphere as the evening gets underway, from the first dances through to the later celebrations.
