Set amongst 50 acres of gardens in Surrey, Great Fosters is a romantic Grade I listed building which comprises a 4 star hotel, 14th century Tithe barn and a Michelin star restaurant. The hotel suites have had many famous guests throughout the years including Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles
There are several rooms to choose from at Great Fosters, depending on your numbers, each one brings something special to the day and have an equally spacious and luxurious feel.
Outside, the gardens are immaculately kept and one feature which sets this venue apart is the Japanese bridge, fabulously draped with wisteria, which makes for a wonderful spot for your wedding photos with family and friends.
The venue is also framed on three sides by a Saxon moat. There are so many features, including a lake, fountain, rose garden, lily pond, apiary and grassed amphitheatre. So there really are endless options for some truly unique wedding photos and video.

Capturing a Great Fosters Wedding
Great Fosters is particularly enjoyable to film because the wedding day can move through several very different parts of the estate. The Orangery provides a bright setting for the ceremony, while the Tithe Barn gives the wedding breakfast a completely different atmosphere with its exposed oak beams, open fire and historic character.

For summer weddings, the Archery Pavilion and surrounding gardens provide another opportunity to take the film outside. The movement from the ceremony into the gardens, through to drinks and photographs before everyone returns inside, gives us plenty of natural moments to capture without having to manufacture them.
​
We also love the way Great Fosters works as the day progresses. The quieter preparations and anticipation of the morning eventually give way to a much bigger celebration, with speeches, reactions from friends and family, the wedding breakfast and the evening party. Each part has its own atmosphere, which helps us build a film that feels like a complete account of the day rather than simply a collection of highlights.

Having filmed weddings at Great Fosters, we know the layout well and can work discreetly around the different spaces. That familiarity is particularly useful during the fast moving parts of the day, when there are often several things happening at once and the most meaningful moments can be easy to miss.
