Horsley Estate (Horsley Towers)

Situated in Leatherhead, near Dorking, this stunning wedding venue evokes a fairytale type setting for any wedding, complete with castle towers and a beautiful lake and fountain. The building dates back to 1820 and was a family home. There are plenty of options of rooms to hold your ceremony and reception in, each with their own individual characteristics, from an ornate chapel to the grand Great Hall. It has kept many of its original Victorian features, but has been modernised to accommodate weddings of varying sizes.
As a wedding videographer in Surrey, we have had the pleasure of filming here many times and know the venue extremely well.
It offers exclusive access for you and your guests for the wedding day and has lots of lovely features, for example you can toast marshmallows outside in the grounds on the evening of your wedding.

Filming a Wedding at Horsley Towers
There is something particularly cinematic about filming a wedding at Horsley Towers. The combination of the historic mansion, the surrounding parkland and the different spaces throughout the estate gives the day a real sense of variety, with each part of the celebration offering something different to capture.
The cloisters and chapel create some wonderfully atmospheric settings for quieter moments and couple portraits, while the lakeside lawns and terrace provide a completely different feel when you want to make the most of the surrounding countryside. The architecture of the Towers also gives us plenty of opportunities to use the building itself as part of the film, rather than simply treating it as a backdrop.
We love the way a wedding at Horsley can naturally move between these different environments throughout the day. From the anticipation before the ceremony through to the celebrations in the Great Hall or Sopwith Suite, there is a lovely progression to the story and plenty of changes in light, atmosphere and pace for us to work with.
